The Way We Are CP
Express is a popular music ensemble comprised of 14 musicians and vocalists as
well as 2 sound and lighting technicians. They are selected over a two-week
audition period at the beginning of each school year. It is a yearlong school
initiated credit course that is slotted into the timetable and requires the
students to dedicate and commit much of their time to a variety of performances.
The program involves the learning and performing of an extensive (three hour)
repertoire of songs (35-40). The group gives approximately 20-30 performances
per year. They perform regional school tours, at symposiums, at winter and
summer fairs, social events, school assemblies, conferences, highlight concerts
with Juno award winning artists and any other engagements as they arise through
any given year. Past groups have had the opportunity to perform in Banff and
even London, England. CP
Express is a group that is totally self-sufficient. We have all the equipment
and lighting necessary for our performances. We simply require a standard stage
or sufficient floor space to set-up our equipment (approx. 30’ span x 15’
depth). To use our lights and sound system we need access to a 220v outlet
(stove) within 100’ of the performance area. We require a set-up time of
approximately 1h15mins and a teardown time of approximately 45mins. Our shows
generally last 1h30 to 1h45, depending on the time allotment given by the host
school or type of concert. For
more information or to book the group please do not hesitate to contact the
director, Dale Normandeau, at his office or via email.
