General Information
At Vincent Massey we use football as a vehicle to instill character in young men. We believe that it is far more important to be a good person than it is to be a good football player. Athletes entering the Viking football program will learn valuable skills as well as life long virtues including teamwork, effort, perseverance and the development of character through sport. The Viking football team consists of both a Varsity and Junior Varsity program. The team chooses approximately 35 athletes to make up the varsity team, the remainder of the athletes play Junior Varsity. Athletes are not cut from our program and students will be guaranteed a spot provided we have enough equipment and they make a solid commitment to the team. Rural Manitoba Football League
The Vikings football team competes in the Rural Manitoba Football League.( RMFL) The league consists of the following teams: Vincent Massey Vikings, Southwest Sabers, Neepawa Tigers, Dauphin Clippers, Virden Golden Bears, Neelin Spartans and the Crocus Plains Plainsmen. Several other communities have shown interest in joining the RMFL in years to come. The RMFL has a long history and has been the main source of football in Rural Manitoba for a number of years.
