Feedback has already been obtained from 3 groups of students and staff, evaluation done every 4 years.
· Spin Workshop –The Power of One -to be May 3 some great speakers
o Grade 11’s will be included for the all day event
· Serge Leclerc (speaker) will be in VM the next day for a talk
· Staffing update
o Spanish language course has been a big hit 200 full time will be taught- has not negatively affected French. Ms Jardine will be teaching all full time withsome class amalgamation S3+4
· There has been a drop in band registration. Brent Campbell will be .75 positions there and .25 in clasroom Crocus has experienced the same trend? reflection of early years course and ?costs
· Mr Bartlett to retire, Mooney-LOA Linda Ross Librarian to retire, Bradshaw going ˝ time, Dowsett’s LOA extended and Mr Avon LOA TBA
· Will be hiring for student support, English, Teacher Librarian
· Continue to look at needs in Biology but depends on Avon’s LOA

· S1 registration had to reassign 18 students from VM, 14 to Crocus and 14 from Crocus also went to Neelin
· Coffee incident as per circulated letter re unknown substance in teacher’s coffee Mr Benson does not wish to further pursue incident -? could have been date- rape drug.
· Provincial exam can students review them –TBA
· Student dance last one cancelled due to Late /poor ticket sale no further opportunity to have in school but can go off site as previous years
· Transcript fees will be reviewed tri high wide and TBA
· Student Council -we will request a student to be present to give report and explanations of minutes each PAC
· Parent Div Liaison a common school fees per student/year total is ~$350 Principals are worried that they may loose some of the funds they raise and the benefits they bring to students but the focus of the data collection is to keep equality and fairness throughout the division. Data continues to be collected and fact review is the next step
· Brandon Group Council will become member of MAPC the province wide representative for parents and Brandon will have it’s own Advocate to represent parents in conflicts
· Safe Grad is having a yard sale May 14 –9AM student parking lot and items can be brought to 26 Woodhaven or 7 Fox in support of grads fundraising

English as second language S4 for academic success pilot project
Strategic Planning review goals for 2005-8 are

3.to develop safe and respectful school communities
4.to continually develop schools that are relevant, reflective and adaptive to changing times
