Outside Opportunities

There are many opportunities for Brandon and area high school singers to grow their vocal/choral talents beyond Neelin's walls. Check these out!

Mini University, Brandon:

Something for everyone ages 5-15! One-week camps run from late June to mid-August. Regular, junior and senior Mini U, badminton, guitar, soccer, baby sitting, musical theatre & computer camps. Info: (204) 727-9642.

International Music Camp:

International Peace Garden Eight one-week sessions in art, musical instruments, vocal, choral and dance during June & July. Info: (204) 453-2667.

U of M Jazz Camp, Winnipeg:

One week in mid-August on the U of M campus in Winnipeg. Western Manitoba Youth Choir “WestMan” is now an over twenty year-old tradition in our region. This honor choir auditions for Grade 10-12 singers in May, and runs two rehearsal weekends in, and then tours for. The guest conductors are considered to be among the best in the province, who whip this group of approximately 50 singers into national level quality in just two intense sessions in Sept/Oct at Camp Wannakumbac, Clear Lake, followed by a four day tour in October throughout WestMan. Brandon Conservatory Chorale

Another jewel of our region, which finds its home at the Brandon University School of Music, under the direction of the highly esteemed Elizabeth Grant, running fall-spring. Eckhardt-Gramatté Conservatory of Music Offers a rich variety of music lessons and classes to students from all over Southwestern Manitoba, year-round. Have more information to add?
