Neelin High School’s Student Behaviour Expectations are based on the belief that students learn better in a positive school environment. It is the student’s responsibility to choose to learn, be respectful, and be responsible. The above matrix provides examples of behaviour expected from Neelin High School students. This matrix will be displayed throughout the school. All Neelin High School staff will assist students in learning and following the behaviour expectations. Because Neelin the staff believes that the most productive place for students during the school day is within the classroom, it is expected that the majority of behaviour interventions will take place at the classroom level. This philosophy helps prevent a student from spending valuable instructional time sitting in the office. However, situations will arise which result in a student being referred to administration. Behaviour data will be collected in an effort to strengthen our proactive approach to student behaviour. |
