ABOUT US
École New Era School is a dual track school. We offer education in English (Kindergarten-6)and
French Immersion (Kindergarten-8). The school follows
the philosophies of the Early Years (Kindergarten-4) and Middle Years (Grades
5-8).English
education serves the New Era catchment area from 1st Street to 10th Street and Pacific Avenue to McTavish Avenue. Allowances can be
made depending on the student enrolment in the various grades. New Era offers French Immersion education for the city of Brandon from
Kindergarten to Grade Eight and for Shilo students in Grades Five to Eight. Instruction in
Kindergarten is 100% in French with English instruction beginning in grade 1 for 20% of the school
day. Kindergarten instruction is done with the use of visuals, body language, songs and
games. The teacher may also use English when dealing with emotional/social
situations.
New Era currently has a population of about 610 students.
