NUT ALLERGY

Several children in our school have severe allergies to peanuts, peanut products or other nuts. Strict avoidance is the ONLY way to prevent an allergic reaction. A reaction is triggered not only by eating peanuts, but also by touching, smelling, or coming in contact with any item containing peanuts or peanut traces (such as chocolate). Because a reaction can be fatal within minutes, our school is a "Nut-Free" environment this year.

For your reference, attached is a list of foods that do not contain peanuts or peanut traces. Foods that contain peanuts or peanut traces should not be brought to class or packed in lunches. It is also helpful if you remind your child throughout the school year not to share food. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated. If you have questions or would like further guidance, please contact the principal.
