The centre offers access to job postings and volunteer opportunities, assistance with resume and cover letter writing, as well as mock interviews. If you need help finding a job this summer come down to the Service Canada Centre for Youth Centre for Youth located at 9-940 Princess Avenue in the CEYS building, or call 726-7799.

All students are responsible for bringing all of their Physical Activity “Log sheets” completed neatly and acurately to reflect the number of “In timetable” hours as well as “Out of Timetable” hours for the entire semeste. Students claiming any “Out of Timetable” hours are required to hand in their signed and dated Parent/Student Declaration forms as well.
Students failing to have their Log sheets completed on their conference day will be required to attend a “Make Up” Conference on Monday June 14.
Students failing to submit their Physical Activity log sheets or attend their scheduled Year End conference will not receive this required credit for graduation.

CONGRATULATIONS GOES OUT TO THE BOY’S RUGBY TEAM who fought hard and put up a good fight against the Minnedosa Chancellors in the high school rugby semi finals. Despite being short handed, the team played well but could not get the victory. It was a good campaign for the title and next year’s prospects look good. Information regarding the windup are to follow.
FOR THOSE STUDENTS WHO LIKE A GOOD CONTEST, THE DRIVER ED PROGRAM at Manitoba Public Insurance is again hosting the Driver Ed Challenge competition starting with the online quiz from June 1st to December 31st this year. This is for students who are still in high school but have taken or are taking the Driver Education Program and have their Learner or Intermediate license. There are great prizes to be won such as Ipods, computers and scholarships up to $1500 for post secondary education. WAIVERS FOR FRIDAYS’ GOLF TOURNAMENT in Shilo are available in the office. All students need to return their waiver by tomorrow morning.
ATTENTION ALL OF MR MACKAYS’ PERIOD 2 AND 4 GRADE 11/12 GOLF STUDENTS: We are going ahead with our round of golf as scheduled. You are all (periods 2 and 4 students both) to show up at Deer Ridge Golf course with everything you will need Golf balls, tees, clubs (including warm/dry clothes) just after 10:00 am. We will Tee off shortly thereafter.
GRAD BANQUET TICKETS will be for sale today and tomorrow at noon in the library. Tickets are $43 each. Select your seating when you purchase your tickets.

THE BOYS’ RUGBY TEAM defeated the Dauphin Clippers 20-5 on Friday. Seth Hume, Reed Beaudry, Bert Ferguson and Brett Richards were the try scorers for the Vikings. Next game is Tuesday against Minnedosa.
THE GIRLS RUGBY TEAM played the Dauphin Clippers on Friday night in the tightest match of the year. The Massey try scorers were Jaydin Burton with 3 and one conversion, and rookie Victoria Goernert with her first try of the season. The final score was 22 – 30.

First place finish to Jeremy Lucio, second to Eric Badiou, and third to Riley Gordon. In the girls singles we had a second place finish by Samantha Lee and fourth place finish by Erin Lee! Great showing by all 11 athletes. City double and mixed finals continue tonight starting in the gym at 5:30.

THE BOY’S RUGBY TEAM lost a heartbreaker to Crocus on Friday. Crocus scored on the last play of the game for a 12-5 victory. Alex Fierens and Justin Clouthier had outstanding games with Reed Beaudry scoring Massey’s try. Next action is Friday against Souris.
THE VINCENT MASSEY GIRLS RUGBY TEAM suffered a disappointing loss on Friday in their season opener against Crocus. Early in the game, Jaydin Burton found the try line, scoring 5 for Massey. The Massey girls played hard, improving with each minute of the game but could not overcome the Crocus lead, for a final score of 20 – 5. Next game is Friday at Canada Games Rugby Park.

VIGI SALON IS HAVING THEIR CUT-A-THON in the main foyer today. Book an appointment in the office for only $10. All proceeds go to SAFE GRAD. SAFE GRAD is also having a BAKE SALE in the main foyer today.
Coach Curtis would like to congratulate all the Massey Badminton players who participated in the Elkhorn badminton tournament this past Sat. There were too many highlights to mention all of them. The athletes played hard, some finishing first in their events and all representing Massey with pride. Great showing!!
THE BOYS RUGBY TEAM played in the Keogh Classic Rugby Tournament this weekend. The team was competitive in each game, losing 2 games by one try. Viking tries were scored by Seth Hume and Jared Spearing. The boy’s next game is Friday against cross town rivals Crocus.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GIRLS’ RUGBY TEAM who played in the John Keogh Rugby Tournament this weekend. The girls showed tremendous improvement through their three games and with some tweaking will become a success in their cross-town opener against Crocus on Friday.

VIKING REACH FOR THE TOP
THE Viking Reach for the Top Team played very well in the provincial tournament in Portage yesterday. The team made it to a very exciting final game against the powerhouse St. Paul’s team. Our team suffered a narrow defeat, but will now move on to the National tournament in Toronto at the end of May. Congratulations to the team for a very successful season!

ATTENTION ALL CURRENT GRADE 11 AND 12 PHYS ED STUDENTS: Just a reminder to each of you that the required Core Health Component of your Phys Ed course starts on Monday April 5th (First day after Spring Break). Please make sure that you have a pen/pencil and a binder or note paper for these classes. Also, a reminder that during this Unit, you will be asked to show your instructor all your Physical Activity hours (both In timetable and Out of Timetable accumulated to that point). Please make sure these are completely accurate and neatly presented. See your Phys. Ed teacher for the specific classroom location for your class.
ATTENTION: ALL GRADE 9 THRU 12 GIRLS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN PLAYING FASTBALL for the Vincent Massey Vikings this upcoming season. Mr .MacKay wants all of you to know that there will be a brief pre season organizational meeting occurring shortly after Spring Break. So if you are interested in trying out for this team it might be a good idea to start working on your skills over the holiday.
