Potato Art

Student Directions:

1. Choose a half-potato and on the white part of it, trace one of the geometric shapes provided.

2. With the knife provided, carefully carve away the excess potato away from the shape you traced.

3. The shape should stand out from the rest of the potato, to make a potato stamper.

4. Choose a color and dip the potato in a paint pot. Stamp it on the paper to create a pattern design. Share designs with the others in your group so you will have more than one design in your print.

5. Set your potato print out to dry.
